Generations of cherished moments
Deep-rooted in history, our story begins in 1244, when Alexander II gifted a piece of land to Arbroath Abbey. Fast forward a few hundred years to 1878, when Alexander “Soapy” Ogston (son of a local Aberdeen soap merchant) built the baronial house on the land. It served as a treasured family home until 1947, when it opened its doors to guests as a hotel.

A beautiful blend between modernity and tradition, Ardoe House offers charm and character for any event. Our six event suites also provide the perfect backdrop for small meetings or conferences for up to 600 delegates.
Perfect location for our stay also perfect for pets with the large garden at the back. Staff were so friendly and attentive. The room was very comfortable.
